Rec: New England Boiled Dinner

3 lb Corned beef
6 Carrots; halved lengthwise
6 Potatos; halved lengthwise
1 medium Cabbage
3 cups Water
6 Turnips; quartered

Place corned beef and water in crockpot.
Cover. Set on HIGH. When steaming
vigorously, set to LOW and continue
cooking 3 1/2 hours. Remove meat from
crockpot. Put potatoes, turnips, carrots and
cabbage in crockpot. Place meat on top of
vegetables. Cover and set to HIGH again.
When mixture is steaming briskly, set to
LOW. Cook for 1 1/2hours. Ham may be
used in place of corned beef, if desired.

Serves 4 to 6
Refrigerate remainder
Can be reheated in microwave
